Empowering Rural Entrepreneurs in Spain

Imagine a world where women entrepreneurs in rural Spain have the support they need to transform their communities. Where talent isn’t held back by limited resources or lack of funding.

(Support a dream)

14 Real Women, 1 Real Impact

Across rural Spain, there are places where time stands still—where storefronts close, schools go quiet, and dreams seem to drift away. This is the reality of la España vacía, where nearly half of all municipalities are at risk of disappearing.

But at Tara for Women, we choose to see something else: possibility.

In the heart of these quiet towns, 14 extraordinary women are planting the seeds of revival.

From Cáceres to Toledo, each of them leads a project rooted in tradition, innovation, and a deep love for their land. With the right support, these women are:

  • Creating local jobs and breathing new life into rural economies

  • Building sustainable businesses that honor the environment and fuel the circular economy

  • Preserving ancestral knowledge and celebrating cultural identity

  • Offering real alternatives to rural exodus by making staying a powerful choice

This is how communities come back to life—with courage, connection, and the spark of a single idea, proving that geography should never limit the size of a woman’s dream.

Because when she rises, hope rises with her, and entire villages begin to dream again.

RURAL ROOTS, BOLD FUTURES

Over the past months, we’ve met with each entrepreneur to deeply understand their dreams, challenges, and the everyday realities of building a business in rural Spain. Here’s how we’re walking alongside them:

  • Direct Economic Support:

From covering their self-employment fees to funding essential materials, advertising, and specialized workshops—our goal is to reduce the financial barriers that hold women back from growing their businesses.

  • Group Training & Community

Through collective workshops, they’re building skills—and a sisterhood. These sessions are practical, empowering, and designed to solve real-world business challenges. Together, they work on key areas like marketing, finance, branding, digital strategy, and more.

  • Mentorship & Personalized Guidance

Each woman is paired with a mentor who provides tailored, one-on-one support.
