Webinar: “The Importance of Attitude” by Almudena Sacristán
In her inspiring webinar “The Importance of Attitude,” Almudena took us on a journey into the transformative force behind the way we speak, think, and act.
1. Attitude as a Multiplier
Drawing on speaker Víctor Küppers’ formula
V = (K + S) × A
(Value = Knowledge + Skills, all multiplied by Attitude)
Almudena explained that “Attitude” makes the real difference. Without attitude, our potential remains limited. Even the brightest talents lose strength if enthusiasm, passion, or optimism are missing.
2. High-Voltage Emotional Habits
Almudena encouraged us to cultivate an energy that transcends the everyday:
Be grateful: recognizing the good opens doors.
Keep perspective: not everything deserves the urgency you give it.
Balance your roles: work, family, friends, and self-care.
Practice optimism and nurture dreams.
Persevere and don’t give up: consistency and attitude matter.
Invest in relationships: connecting with others amplifies your light.
3. The Locus of Control, where You Hold the Power
Almudena introduced a key psychological concept: the locus of control. It describes the degree to which a person believes they can influence the outcomes in their life (internal locus) or that results depend on external factors such as luck, destiny, or others’ actions (external locus).
With an internal locus, we take responsibility for our decisions, act with conviction, and move forward with resilience.
With an external locus, we believe that life “happens to us” rather than that we “make it happen,” which can lead to passivity or anxiety.
Almudena emphasized that a strong attitude also means shifting our locus inward — recognizing that we can act, canchoose our response, and can build through effort and mindset.
4. The Inner Dialogue: Our Hidden Narrator
The webinar explored how the way we talk to ourselves shapes our attitude.
Labeling ourselves (“I’m not enough,” “I don’t have what it takes”) limits our ability to act.
Focusing only on the negative, worrying about what we can’t control, or downplaying praise (“yes, but…”) dims our light.
Living with a catastrophe script (“if X happens, it’ll be terrible”) kills motivation before we even begin.
Almudena encouraged us to observe that inner dialogue and rewrite it from a place of gratitude, possibility, and self-agency.
5. Conclusion: Attitude + Action = Transformation
To close, Almudena reminded us that we can’t choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we respond to it. A positive attitude doesn’t automatically change circumstances, but it changes the person who experiences them and once that person changes, circumstances begin to shift too.
In that sense, when you combine attitude, an internal locus of control, and a renewed inner dialogue, you open the door to a life with greater impact, purpose, and inspiration.
